Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year is celebrated as a spring festival in commemoration of the legend of Nia. Nia was supposed to be a huge wild animal which terrified towns and villages on winter evenings when it came looking for food. The people were frightened as they could think of no way of scaring the monster away.

The last pic here is our family dog when we were young, proud with her six puppies.
My dogs are very happy that it is the Year of the Dog. Most of my friends think it is permanently the year of the dog in my house and plan to come back as spaniels. What a lovely tribute to that special family dog Monika. And I do love the colour.
I do not have a dog of my own, allergies, you know, but I am telling all my doggie friends that this is their special year.

I can believe that, Heather.
Vi, that is a shame, but at least you are spreading the word!
