Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year is celebrated as a spring festival in commemoration of the legend of Nia. Nia was supposed to be a huge wild animal which terrified towns and villages on winter evenings when it came looking for food. The people were frightened as they could think of no way of scaring the monster away.

BUT.....What's the tea taste like Faucon in that strange enchanted teapot...
Or has Em outlawed it and gone over to a nice china teapot....

True, 'tis only decoration. In our 'Council Room' where everyone sits on the cushioned floor (it is draped like a tent), we use a simple glazed Japanese set. For formal occasions we have others I will display some day -- one is very rare, about $100 per cup/saucer - an abandoned gift from a strange houseguest, but not oriental.
